ALLERGY TO CATS
CAT |
Fel d 1 Protein |
First, I tell you the reason why some people get sneezy, they sneezy due to their allergy to a protein produced by the sebaceous glands located under a cat’s skin named Fel d 1. Scientists still don't know exactly why cats produce the Fel d 1 protein, but scientists have proposed some reasons of why a cat requires it:
- Shielding the skin: Fel d 1 might guard a cat's skin by latching onto lipids, forming a protective layer that keeps water out.
- Lipid and steroid transport: This protein could be involved in moving vital lipids and steroids around the cat's body. These substances are crucial for cell function and hormonal processes.
- Chemical talk: Fel d 1 might also help cats communicate through chemicals. It resembles other pheromones, which animals use to chat with each other.
It's possible that Fel d 1 serves
multiple roles at the same time, like protecting the skin while also
transporting lipids and steroids simultaneously.
Symptoms of the Allergy |
The Symptoms for
Allergy includes :
- Coughing and wheezing
- Development of hives or a rash on the chest and face
- Red, itchy eyes
- Skin redness in areas where a cat has scratched, bitten, or licked
- Experience of a runny, itchy, or stuffy nose
- Frequent sneezing
My teacher once told me that having a cat may give some person the problem of asthma. I thought it was truth (because I was a kid back then). But as I of today I know it is partially true and partially false. Many conducted researches said that cat allergy symptoms can vary, with some manifestations occurring within minutes, while some may take hours to appear. It's noteworthy that the researches said that approximately 20% to 30% of individuals with allergic asthma may experience severe flare-ups upon contact with a cat. Well, guess she was partially right; a cat may be a pretty bad choice for an asthma patient.
SOLUTION :
Continuing to the
Solution, that lady shared that eating eggs from chickens that roam freely with
cats on the farm can actually help lessen cat allergy symptoms. According to
her, chickens produce an antibody for the common feline allergen in humans when
they're around cats regularly. Actually, when chickens are exposed to the Fel d 1
protein, immunity system of chicken tends to produce an anti Fel d 1
antibody. This antibody makes its way into the egg yolks. When people or cats
eat these eggs, they get the cat allergen antibodies that can ease the
symptoms. While not widely known, several studies have confirmed the safety and
effectiveness of this cat allergy solution. The lady, a homesteader, personally
confirms its effectiveness, noticing the change in her husband's cat allergies
after they started living on a homestead with free-ranging cats and chickens.
And that’s the
solution she gave. In my opinion, more research should be done in the matter of
cat allergy which will eventually allow us for get a brief solution for this. And
that’s all for this blog section.
